" For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen. " –Romans 11:36 (ESV)

2019 February 10 – Sunday afternoon service
Scripture reading: Acts 16:1-10
Sermon: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-7 The Providence and Power of God
Due to technical difficulties, this sermon was not recorded.

Summary: Churches are planted through God’s providence, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. There are many examples from church history of circumstances that appeared to go against the Great Commission, but in God’s providence actually built up God’s kingdom. (One example is Charles Spurgeon’s conversion, in which a snowdrift prevented him from reaching the church he had planned to attend that day. He instead attended another church where a poorly equipped lay preacher was speaking. Through a message consisting of one Bible verse, Spurgeon was saved that day.) We need to pray expectantly to God.
